Technical Trainer, EHS (Starship)

The ideal candidate brings applicable industry experience, strong communication skills, innovative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for contributing to a safe workplace that supports the advancement of human space exploration.</p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Create course materials using educational tools: PowerPoint, student handouts, exams, study materials, and instructor-led student assessments</li> <li>Own, create, and edit training Engineering Masters (EMs) for relevant EHS training courses</li> <li>Partner directly with subject matter experts to design and develop engaging content for a variety of audiences and delivery modes (online, classroom, etc.) with clear strategies and tactics to achieve desired learning outcomes, including but not limited to: OSHA compliance, hazard communication, lockout/tagout, confined space, fall protection, environmental regulations, emergency response, PPE, and incident investigation</li> <li>Lead training modules (classroom and online) for Production, Engineering, and all site teams on a variety of EHS &amp; technical topics</li> <li>Assess and evaluate student performance through practical tests, projects, and written exams</li> <li>Organize, schedule, and manage enrollments, attendance, and student performance</li> <li>Develop process specifications and research on new equipment, technologies and regulatory updates</li> <li>Perform special assignments (e.g., leading safety audits, incident reviews, or process modifications in the field)</li> <li>Engage Production Management, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other subject matter experts to gather feedback and implement process improvements for future training modules</li> <li>Coordinate with third-party vendors for specialized resources and instruction (e.g., certified OSHA trainers)</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency certificate</li> <li>1+ years of experience as a technical/on-the-job trainer, conducting hands-on, instructor-led EHS or safety courses</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in occupational health &amp; safety, environmental science, engineering, or education</li> <li>5+ years of hands-on experience in EHS, manufacturing safety, or industrial hygiene</li> <li>1+ years of experience as a safety trainer or EHS specialist</li> <li>OSHA 30-hour or equivalent certification; CSP, ASP, or similar professional credentials</li> <li>Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and learning management systems</li> <li>Ability to independently analyze, review, and research EHS processes, regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.), and applicable standards</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of workplace hazards and controls (e.g., chemical handling, machine guarding, ergonomics, waste management)</li> <li>Excellent oral and written training and communication skills</li> <li>Proficiency with the development of training programs and materials, including student assessments</li> <li>Experience with video editing and online training module development</li> <li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office</li> <li>Demonstrated experience as a team-orien
