Environmental Health & Safety Engineer

Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of&nbsp;enabling human life on Mars.</p></div><p><strong>ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH &amp; SAFETY ENGINEER</strong></p> <p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Develop and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, NFPA and NIOSH and other applicable regulatory agencies</li> <li>Implement and develop safety and health programs including but not limited to:&nbsp;</li> <ul> <ul> <li>OSHA general industry and construction standards</li> <li>Confined space, fall protection, machine guarding, &nbsp;and lock-out/tag-out</li> </ul> </ul> <li>Collaborate with department leadership to complete job hazard assessments and implement health and safety policies and procedures</li> <li>Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards</li> <li>Understand and implement machine guarding where needed</li> <li>Develop recommendations for remedial actions when safety policies are not met by employees</li> <li>Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment in order to identify and correct potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations</li> <li>Complete and maintain documented safety observations from regular hazard identification audits</li> <li>Investigate industrial accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine root causes, corrective actions and preventive measures</li> <li>Ensure hazards are being appropriately addressed and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) assessments are created.</li> </ul> <p><strong>BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree</li> <li>3+ years of experience in the design, development and operational oversight of environmental, health and safety disciplines</li> </ul> <p><strong>PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering with an emphasis in occupational health and safety</li> <li>Strong knowledge and experience in interpreting, applying and documenting federal, state and local safety and environmental regulations</li> <li>Strong organizational and communication skills</li> <li>Familiarity and implementation of machine guarding and industrial hygiene programs</li> <li>Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)</li> </ul> <p><strong>ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p> <ul> <li>This is&nbsp;<u>not</u> a remote or hybrid position and will require relocation if not already local to the Hawthorne, CA area</li> <li>Position occasionally requires the ability to work extended hours and weekends when needed</li> </ul> <strong>COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:</strong><br><br> Pay Range:<br> Level 1: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00<br>Level 2: $110,000.00 - $150,000.00<br><br> <p>Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.</p> <p>Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
